Starlink ni Elon Musk, available na sa Pilipinas

 

Inanunsyo nitong Miyerkules ng SpaceX ni American tech billionaire Elon Musk na ang Low Earth Orbit (LEO) sattellite internet service nila na Starlink ay available na sa Pilipinas.

"Available na ngayon ang Starlink sa Pilipinas," saad sa Twitter post ng SpaceX.

Ayon sa "Order Starlink" page ng website ng Starlink, naka-highlight ang Pilipinas bilang isa sa mga bansa sa mundo kung saan magiging available ang LEO internet service.

Samantala,  nauna nang i-anunsyo ng Data Lake – isang data company na pinamumunuan ng tycoon na si Henry Sy Jr. – na pinapabilis na nila ang pagpasok ng Starlink sa Pilipinas sa loob ng tatlong unang buwan ng 2023.

Sinabi ng Data Lake na sila ang unang Starlink integrator sa bansa.

Nauna nang sinabi ng Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) Assistant Secretary Philip Varilla na ang paglulunsad ng Starlink sa bansa ay mauusog sa kalagitnaan ng 2023.

Hulyo noong nakaraang taon nang i-anunsyo ng Starlink Internet Services Philippines, isang subsidiary na pagmamay-ari ng SpaceX ni Elon Musk, na ilulunsad ang Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite internet services sa Pilipinas noong December 2022.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng Data Lake na ang delays sa produksyon at deployment ng LEO satellites na dapat ay noon pang December 2022 ay naging unang quarter na ng 2023.

Inaasahang makakapagbigay ang Starlink ng high-speed broadband internet sa mga end-user, kabilang na ang mga remote area, dahil gumagamit ito ng satellite na nakapwesto sa low-Earth orbit (LEO) kumpara sa conventional at mas magastos na underground fiber optic cables.

Pinaplano ng Starlink na i-offer ang kanilang serbisyo sa mga Pilipinong customer sa halagang $599 kada satellite unit at connectivity service na nagkakahalaga ng $99 kada buwan, na may download speed na 200 Mbps.

Nauna nang sinabi ng Department of Trade and Industry na ang Pilipinas ang kauna-unahang bansa sa Southeast Asia na gagamit ng Starlink technology.

Oras de Peligro star, willing makatrabaho si Darryl Yap

 

Sa naganap na media conference para sa pelikulang Oras de Peligro, tinanong ang aktor na si Allen Dizon kung ano ang komento niya sa tila paghahalo ng mundo ng showbiz at politika, lalo na ngayong may mga pelikulang tumatalakay sa mga napapanahong political issues at pangkaraniwan na ring may mga artista na tumatakbo sa public office.

"Siguro part, part siguro ng showbiz 'yan kasi public figure ka and public property yung showbiz, so sigruo part din.

"Pero hindi kasi ako pampulitika, eh. Kumbaga, doon lang ako sa totoo, doon lang ako sa totoo lagi," pahayag ni Dizon.

Dagdag pa ng aktor, "Karamihan naman sa showbiz, ang fallback nila sa politika. So, siguro part talaga, part talaga ng showbiz ang politics."

Pabor din ang aktor na naisasalin sa pelikula ang mga pangyayari sa kasaysayan, tulad umano ng pelikula niya ngayong Oras de Peligro.

"Oo, para sa akin. Para maging aware lahat ng mga Pilipino. 'Iyong mga hindi nakaranas ng Dekada '70, about Martial Law, about People Power, 'di ba?

"Wala sila doon, e. Kaya talagang kailangang isapelikula para maraming makaalam, para iyong mga kabataan, maging aware sila sa mga nangyayari," diin ni Dizon.

Sa pelikulang Oras de Peligro, gumaganap si Dizon bilang si Dario na asawa ng karakter na si Beatrice na ginagampanan ng aktres na si Cherry Pie Picache. Anak naman nila sa pelikula ang Sparkle star na si Dave Bornea bilang si Jimmy.

Sa direksyon ni Joel Lamangan at mula sa Bagong Siklab Productions ni Atty. Howard Calleja at sa panulat nina Bonifacio Ilagan at Eric Ramos, ang Oras de Peligro ay ipapalabas sa mga sinehan sa March 1 kasabay ng pelikula ni Darryl Yap na Martyr or Murderer.

Tinanong din si Allen Dizon kung ano ang nararamdaman niya na sabay ang showing ng pelikula nilang Oras de Peligro at Martyr or Murderer na tungkol naman sa buhay ng Marcos family.

Sagot ng aktor, "Ako okay lang. Para maraming palabas na pelikulang Pilipino. Para alam natin, para ma-weigh ng tao. 'Ito ba 'yung totoo? Ito ba 'yung hindi? Ito ba 'yung buong katotohanan? Ito ba 'yung fake?'

"So, at least 'di ba, malalaman natin doon kung ano 'yung katotohanan talaga."

Tatanggapin naman kaya ng aktor sakaling may mag-alok sa kaniya na gumanap bilang dating President Ferdinand Marcos sa isang proyekto?

"Walang problema, walang problema," mabilis na sagot ng aktor.

Tanong naman ng media sa aktor na kung si Darryl Yap, na direktor ng Martyr or Murderer, ang magdidirek ay tatanggapin pa rin ba n'ya?

"Ako naman, artista ako. Kumbaga, kahit sino, kahit saan, okay sa akin. Okay sa akin.

"Walang masamang tinapay sa akin," pagtatapos ng aktor.

Kasisimula pa lang: Batang Quiapo, na-MTRCB kaagad!

Isang linggo pa lang sa ere ay humarap na kaagad sa reklamo ang teleseryeng Batang Quiapo na pinagbibidahan ni Kapamilya Primetime King Coco Martin.

Inireklamo ni Lanao del Sur Rep. Ziaur-Rahman "Zia" Alonto Adiong nitong Huwebes ang bagong programa ng ABS-CBN dahil umano sa paglalarawan sa mga Muslim bilang kublihan at mga magnanakaw at gumagamit ng mga nakaw na gamit para makatulong sa iba.

Sa isang pahayag sa social media, sinabi ni Adiong na sumama ang loob nya sa alegasyon na ang mga Muslim na nakatira sa Quiapo ay hindi lang nag-aari ng baril, kundi mga kriminal na nagtatago upang hindi maaresto ng mga pulis.

"These are discriminatory, harmful, and derogatory portrayals of an entire community. As a district representative of Lanao del Sur and a Bangsamoro Muslim, I am deeply saddened by this discriminating portrayal," saad ni Adiong.

"It is crucial to note that Islam does not coddle theft and considers it a major sin," dagdag pa ni Adiong.

Sinabi niya ring ito ay kalokohan at mapang-abuso na ang maikling panahon na ang mga Muslim ay itinampok sa isang teleserye, ito ay para muling buhayin ang lumipas nang pang-stereotype sa mga Muslim.

“Muslim community in and around the Golden Mosque in Quiapo has a rich history that dates back several centuries.

“Islam was first introduced to the Philippines in the 14th century, and the Muslim community has been an integral part of the country’s cultural and social fabric ever since," saad ni Adiong.

“The Muslim community is a diverse and vibrant group that has made significant contributions to the progress and development of our nation.

“To ignore this fact and portray us in a negative light is a disservice to our community’s long-standing presence in this country and to the values of respect and inclusivity that we should all strive to uphold,” ani Adiong.

Dagdag pa ni Adiong na hinihikayat niya ang mga lumikha ng Batang Quiapo na pag-isipang mabuti ang impact ng kanilang teleserye at ang mensaheng kanilang ipinahahatid sa mga manonood.

“In a time when the world is already grappling with hate speech and extremism, the last thing we need is a popular television show that adds fuel to the fire.

“We call upon them to take steps to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future,” sabi ni Adiong.

Tinawag rin ni Adiong ang pansin ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) at iba pang concerned agencies upang tingnan ang insidente.

“As for this representation, we will review, strengthen, and push forward legislative measures to address similar acts of discrimination in mass media and other streaming and digital platforms,” dagdag ni Adiong.

“We call upon all members of our society to reject hate and discrimination in all its forms and to work towards building a more peaceful and harmonious world for everyone,” sabi pa ng Kongresista.

Sagot ng MTRCB sa reklamo ni Rep. Adiong

Ayon sa MTRCB, kinikilala nila ang concern ni Rep. Adiong tungkol sa pagsasalarawan ng mga Muslim character sa programang Batang Quiapo.

Ani Chairperson Sotto-Antonio, "It is mindful that discriminatory and offensive portrayals of Filipino Muslims harm our Muslim brothers and sisters and also runs counter to the call of President Marcos, Jr. for national unity."

Pinagtitibay umano ng MTRCB ang kanilang mga alituntunin/patakaran sa telebisyon at pelikula na tumutugon sa mga kultural at relihiyosong paniniwala ng mga Filipino Muslim viewers.

Dagdag pa ng MTRCB, humingi na raw ng paumanhin ang CCM Film, ang produksyon sa likod ng programa, sa Ahensya at nangakong makikipag-coordinate sa MTRCB upang maiwasan na ang ganitong pangyayari sa hinaharap.

Gayunpaman, maglalabas din ng abiso ang MTRCB sa kinauukulang network upang matiyak na ang mga paglalarawan ng mga Pilipinong Muslim sa kanilang mga programa ay nagpaparangal sa kultura, lipunan, at mga espesyal na pagpapahalaga ng Islam at komunidad ng mga Pilipinong Muslim.

Voltes V: Legacy, mapapanood muna sa Big Screen!

Unang masasaksihan ng mga manonood ang inaabangang live-action adaptation na “Voltes V: Legacy” sa mga sinehan bago ito masubaybayan sa telebisyon.

Ayon sa ulat ni Nelson Canlas para sa Chika Minute segment ng 24 Oras nitong Biyernes, inihayag nito ang malaking surpresang handog ng Kapuso Network.

“Voltes V: Legacy will be presented in full 5.1 surround sound cinematic experience,” sabi ng director nitong si Mark Reyes.

“Bago mag-umpisa ang series, you can get to see Voltes V in all his height, the big fights with the beast fighter, the epic skull ship in cinematic form,” dagdag ni direk Mark.

Sabi naman ng isa sa mga bida ng serye na si Miguel Tanfelix, “Mas mae-experience nila ng 100% kung makikita nila sa big screen. Very excited for that.”

“I’m very happy about it kasi when we were in the studio, I was very hyped up kasi ‘yung musical scoring and ‘yung feel, ‘yung yanig nu’ng sound effects, mae-experience po ‘yun ng mga Kapuso,” sabi ni Radson Flores.

Nagkaroon din ng pagkakataon ang cast members na sina Miguel, Ysabel Ortega, Radson, Matt Lozano at Raphael Landicho na makipagkita sa mga opisyal ng Toei Company Ltd., creator at licensor ng Voltes V, na pinamumunuan ni International Sales and Acquisitions Senior Director Yasuhiko Nakajima.

“I’m super grateful po. We’ve heard so many good feedback po from TOEI about what we’ve been working on. We’re so grateful to finally meet them in the flesh,” sabi ni Ysabel.

“GMA, is making a very good [and] incredible adaptation of the Voltes V. Yes, most of the Japanese fans made a comment like that, and I agree with them,” sabi ni Nakajima.

GMA reshuffles Primetime lineup

The Switch is happening!

Starting Monday next week, August 19, GMA Telebabad will have a new schedule. Two of its programs will switch timeslots.

A lot has happened over the past few months. First was the Kapuso program Rosang Agimat being shelved. It was supposed to replace Kara Mia but due to the accident that took place on its set, GMA Network decided to cancel the show.

Second was Sahaya moving to an earlier timeslot to give way to The Better Woman.

The Better Woman was released earlier than scheduled so the marketing for the said show was rushed. The new Kapuso show suffered low ratings and even pulled down the ratings of the shows after it.

In efforts to restore the interests of viewers, GMA announced four upcoming programs that will replace the current primetime lineup.

To give a great start for the upcoming programs, GMA decided to switch the timeslot of Love You Two and The Better Woman.

Sources say that One of the Baes will start airing next month and will replace Love You Two. Descendants of the Sun and The Gift also started taping so it means that these programs will be released very soon.

The Gift might replace Sahaya but until now there's no announcements if Sahaya will receive another extended run. Descendants of the Sun might take over the timeslot of The Better Woman.

Now, the question is, what will be the timeslot of Beautiful Justice which was initially reported to be on primetime as well?
